Poster Girl

Friend John Lohnes took this photo in Santa Fe, New Mexico, June, 2011. Along the "running board" is the crucial rallying cry: “First they came for the smokers. Now they’re after our food, cars, pets, light bulbs… Wake up! Smell the coffee before it’s banned too.”

The driver of this car is "The Official Poster Girl" of my October 12th post, "We Americans are flabbergastingly stupid" - http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2011/10/we-americans-are-flabbergastingly.html

A nation that boasts idiocy is moribund.

The Republican Party's courtship of dimwits -- for no purpose but winning their votes – proves Pat Buchanan’s point: "The Republican philosophy might be summarized thus: To hell with principle; what matters is power, and that we have it, and that they do not.” "Where the Right Went Wrong”  (Pat Buchanan, has served inside The Oval Office as White House advisor longer than any living American.  http://www.amazon.com/Where-Right-Went-Wrong-Neoconservatives/dp/0312341156

If the GOP lost “The Aggressively Ignorant Vote,” it would be hard pressed to win 35% of the electorate in any state election or any presidential election.

Do rational conservatives (arguably an oxymoron) ever ask themselves:  “Who are these yahoos?”  "And why am I sleeping with them?” "And what does it profit a man if he gains the whole apparatus of government but loses his soul through intercourse with people who parade Lies while shunning any attempt to discern Truth?"

Lamentably, I am unable to enlarge the Santa Fe photo so that all script is legible.

Over the passenger door note the words: "Smoke is mostly water vapor."

A few other "signs" that are not legible on “the Santa Fe car” can be viewed at http://www.americansmokersparty.com/Articles/SmokersHealthSTOPrepeatingLIES/)

Ask yourself: "Is the person driving this car a liberal or a conservative/"

Now ask: "If my child's life depended on wise medical decision-making, would I enlist the services of “the tobacco driver,” or the services of an Ivy League trained intellectual elitist?"

When push comes to shove, it is not difficult to make the right choice?

The same holds true for every political decision that requires knowledge rather than the trumpeting of Aggressive Ignorance.

The best way to "get out" of serious difficulty is to "think your way out," not increase decibelage to disguise stupidity.

Here is what we are up against:

“Two percent of the people think; three percent of the people think they think; and ninety-five percent of the people would rather die than think.” George Bernard Shaw quotes

“Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do.” Bertrand RussellMany

If you cannot win on the merits of Truth, you don’t deserve to win.

And if you win on the “merits” of Falsehood, you contribute to the debasement of Culture and the collapse of Civilization.

Next November, remember:

“Smoke is mostly water vapor.”

“First they came for the smokers. Now they’re after our food, cars, pets, light bulbs… Wake up! Smell the coffee before it’s banned too.”

“To hell with principle.”
