U.S. Infrastructure Decay

Millau Bridge, Southern France

75 year old Australian friend, A.C. -- a Ph.D. business founder and constant world traveler -- says the state of American infrastructure as shameful. Compared to the rest of the developed world, we are in free fall.

By failing to invest, the United States has damaged itself so that the planet's new "top dogs" - China and Europe (yes, Europe!) - may get such "a leg up" on the United States that we will "never" recover. (It  can be argued that the more fundamental issue in "all this" is the Republican Party's anti-tax, anti-spend, anti-scientific, cut, cut, cut "Base.")

The following videotape of a Volkswagen factory in downtown Dresden obliges America's no-tax, no-regulation "free marketeers" to focus our national stasis in ways that will shake their souls. http://www.youtube.com/embed/nd5WGLWNllA?rel=0

"It ain't over 'til it's over."

But the current generation of American "conservatives" -- a generation that would attack Ronald Reagan as a Republican In Name Only -- are doing their best to trash what's left.
